βοΈ Try this Squat variation to place more load on the Quadriceps!
ππ½ The more we bend our knees the more we use the quadriceps.
ππ½ The greater amount of dorsiflexion we have in our ankles, the easier it is to bend the knees more on the descent of the squat, and in turn push our knees over our toes!
ππ½ This setup gives you artificial ankle mobility. In placing our heels higher off the floor our knees can push past our toes whilst keeping the torso more upright in order to maintain our centre of gravity (like squatting in heelsπ€£) In doing this it places far more load on the quadriceps (and knees) than your regular flat foot squat stance.
